Under general direction of the Head of TPA and Affinity Systems the Test Analyst is an integral role that will be working with in house applications and communicating to a wide range of users. The Test Analyst will be responsible for planning, coordinating and executing test cases while maintaining regular updates on their progress to make sure that projects complete in the expected time frames.

• Performs detailed manual testing of bespoke in house applications using industry standard techniques
• Document software faults and liaise with developers until the software is ready for release
• Arrange User Acceptance Testing
• Enhances and updates the library of test scripts and user documentation for all applications
• Ensures that systems meet the agreed acceptance criteria
• Liaise with the Crawford (first-line) Service Desk to help them understand the application and coordinate a seamless customer support offering, particularly around software releases
• Undertakes email and telephone-based third-line support of bespoke in-house applications when required. The role does not require direct support of standard off the shelf applications like Word or Excel
• Reports key user software issues to the UK TPA Systems team to assist in improving all products
• Upholds the Crawford Code of Conduct

• BS degree
• At least 3 years proven recent experience as an IT Tester
• Proven ability to understand and support in house systems and adapt to rapidly changing software
• Preferred:
• • Experience of testing products developed with BPM tools e.g. Appian
  • Experience with executing and maintaining automated tests(desirable)
  • Ability to write simple SQL database queries
  • Knowledge of insurance/loss adjusting or general customer claims handling
  • Experience of remote desktop control tools for diagnosing problems
  • Experience of testing in both an agile and traditional V-model development environments
• ISTQB /ISEB Foundation level certified or above
• Proven attention to detail
• Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact in a business professional manner with people at all levels
• Logical thought process for troubleshooting support issues
• Methodical and analytical approach to testing
• An in depth knowledge of manual software testing methods
• Basic SQL knowledge

• Excellent communication is required as contact with all levels within the business organization may be necessary. The users that a tester might be in contact with be could be any of the following:
• Day to day business users to work out how they use the system.
• Senior Management and external clients to go through test results.
• 3^rd Party organization to test that 3^rd party applications receive test data.
• IT Operations team to ensure that environments and scripts are ready to test.
• Software Developers to talk about the code that has been deployed and any bugs raised.
• Business Analysts to talks about specifications and testing timeframes.
• Good decision making is extremely important for this role, as the tester will have to analyze specifications and work out the best approach in order to test the changes. There will be strict time frames that the tester will work to so getting the decision right in the first place is fundamental to getting an item of work in on time.
• The Test Analyst will have an important role in implementing different courses of action for the organization. The results that a Test Analyst produces and the information gained from understanding a change to the in house application will determine if changes are applied to the Live application of if they need to be either changed by the business or the development team.
